Molten Obsidian Coat

The Design Story

A sculptural statement coat that captures the instant lava becomes glass. The oversized silhouette drapes dramatically, with razor-sharp angular shoulders framing the wearer like obsidian armor. The fabric — imagined as a liquid-crystal polymer — catches light on its wet, glass-like surface, revealing deep amber and crimson veins running through like cooling lava.

The asymmetric hem cascades to the floor in a single fluid line, echoing pyroclastic flow. Each angle of the coat was composed to feel geological — not sewn, but formed. The high-standing collar creates a dark halo, while the internal fire-veins glow subtly with movement.

Inspiration: Obsidian formations at Iceland's Krafla volcano. The interface between molten and solid — where chaos freezes into structure.
